Majestic Nature: INSPIRATION

Description

[The first painting in a short series planned. Please see in full view. Original linework/drawing done by hand, then digitally painted.]

A mountain is inspiring in the sense of being an imposing structure that beckons an adventurer or a survivor to scale it and reach its summit. The adventurer or survivor (rather than merely seeking to 'claim' the structure's beauty) is both challenged and humbled instilling doubt/uncertainty on the one hand, and intensely pulled (almost infatuated) inspiring determination on the other.

A simple silent appearance evokes these conflicting emotions highlighted by the fact that the mountain stands tall and proud, unable to utter words and yet speaks volumes through displaying its features before the beholder. We find many parallels that tie the symbolic place of mountains to the essence of struggling through difficulties in life.

The mountain here serves as both a symbol and reminder of such symbolism, and it is one of the main components contributing to the title, "Inspiration."
----
A tree is inspiring in the sense through its function and ability to serve as a pivotal part of the sustenance and rejuvenation of life: it provides oxygen, bearing fruits, giving shelter, and contributing to the beauty of flora.

Maybe a major reason why I chose the Bonsai tree (apart from seeking to add a feature that would fit in with Mt Fuji) was the symbolism of delicacy, resilience, balance, and rebirth/restrengthening that I gleaned of it from Karate Kid Part III. I was struck by how much of a pivotal role it plays in movie's plot. Throughout, the Bonsai is a metaphor for the rebirth, restrengthening, and re-rooting of Daniel as well as a metaphor of him loses himself and Miyagi's teachings to the corrupting influence of Terry's training regimen.
----
Finally, birds are also a prominent feature of nature that inspires through the presentation of vibrant life. This vibrancy is an opportunity that comes about cyclically--for some months of the year, but nonetheless which is much anticipated and awaited. For example, how wonderful it is to observe mating and other chirps and to see bird 'dances' as they fly from tree to tree with the approach of Spring, after a long dormant (but equally beautiful) Winter---only to take a break with the advent of another Winter.

Hi

As you asked me for a comment, well to be honest i.m not a painter
but from a glance i think it has potential , I mean the maker too ;-)

The concept is good but it's to put on ( i mean a combination of the mountain and the bonsai on the fore front its like its missing the finnishing touche
don't get me wrong i.ts constructive critic not a burn down ;-)

Regards Arie
